The Daughters of Isabella is a female auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. The first Daughters of Isabella circle was formed in New Haven, Connecticut in 1897 as a female counterpart to the Rev. John Russell Council of the Knights of Columbus. Its patroness and namesake is Queen Isabel of Spain. ==Membership== A member must be a Catholic woman over the age of 16.〔(membership info )〕 The organization has about sixty thousand members. There are chapters in Canada and the United States.
